The Crazy Life of a Coonhound named Curtis Lowe

Rescued in the fields × living in a highrise

Curtis Lowe might be his third name but absolutely the most fitting.

Play me a song
Curtis Loew, Curtis Loew
Well, I got your drinkin’ money
Tune up your Dobro
People said he was useless
Them people all were fools
’Cause Curtis Loew was the finest picker
To ever play the blues
— The Ballad of Curtis Loew, Lynyrd Skynyrd

The beginning... or, the middle...

Curtis Lowe was originally found wondering the country roads of rural VA.  It was guessed that he was let loose by a hunter for being gun shy; however, no one knows what really happened.  After being rescued by the SPCA he was deemed unwanted and almost sent to the NYC pound but thankfully was adopted at the last second by a pound volunteer.  Three days later, Curtis Lowe was diagnosed with heart worms and the pound recommended putting him down,

Thanks to the efforts of a local charity The Mosby Foundation, he got his treatment and has had adventure after adventure ever sense.  Thanks can't be said enough to the foundation that helped save his life- if you enjoy his stories please consider donating to help another dog in need have adventures of his own.

Since being rescued, Curtis Lowe has lived with his roommate in VA, NC and is now currently residing on the 18th floor of a downtown Chicago highrise.  Everywhere Curtis Lowe goes, exciting adventures are bound to happen.  Enjoy.

Old Curt was a black man
With white curly hair
When he had a fifth of wine
He did not have a care
He used to own an old Dobro
Used to play it ‘cross his knee
I’d give old Curt my money
He’d play all day for me
